Open Heel Fins
Open heel fins are an essential part of every divers equipment and thanks to them we can propel and manoeuvre in our underwater world. The most significant advantage of open heel scuba fins is that they can be worn over a thicker neoprene wetsuit boots or drysuit boots. Unlike full-foot scuba fin, this type of fin will offer ease of getting a better fit - this is because you can adjust the fitting with a heel strap. Open heel fins are generally heavier of the two types, and some divers argue that an open heel adjustable fin may assist you with your drysuit diving trim by adding an extra weight balance to your legs. Open heel fins are generally slightly broader, stiffer, giving more kicking power output and therefore often considered superior over full-foot fins in drift diving in the open ocean.
Unlike a few years ago open heel fins nowadays can be arranged in different categories, so you are spoiled for choice between Travel Fins, Split Blade Fins, Paddle Blade Fins, Hinge / Pivot Blade Fins and Channel Blade Fins.
Mike's Dive Store is delighted to offer the best selection on open heel diving fins. We only provide the best product and support from major scuba fins manufacturers like Scubapro, Aqua Lung, Mares, Hollis, Tusa, Apeks, Atomic.
